This blog features photos from the 2016 CinemaCon Conference in Las Vegas. Our daughter, Jessica, works in the group reservations for the Caesar's Hotel properties in Las Vegas. Her biggest client every year is the gigantic CinemaCon Conference. This conference is for the movie theater industry. The exhibition floor features such things as the latest theater chairs, snacks, movie food, etc. This year she got us tickets to the awards ceremony...front row seats.
The awards are given by the theater industry and awards aren't necessarily for performance but for categories that can have a good impact on the theater industry. Some of the awards were Female Star of Tomorrow, Male Star of Tomorrow, Breakthrough Director of the Year, Cinema Icon Star, Male and Female Stars of the Year and so on. We didn't know most of the younger stars (we don't go to enough movies) but there were some big ones we knew: Susan Sarandon, Keanu Reeves and Jeff Goldblum...quite a treat to be in the same room with such luminaries.
